WHO WE ARE
We are a family owned estate in the hills of Iklena, a small village south – west of Peloponnese, Messinia. A small village but big in history as it was part of the kingdom of Nestor the mythic king of Pylos and un important commercial centre.
Iklena has drawn attention lately due to important excavations of the Late Bronze Age – the Mycenaean civilization that have come to light. Here is where the most ancient form of Linear B writing in Europe has been found. In this land we have been cultivating the olive trees for many generations, by using the same traditional farming methods.
OUR OLIVE GROVES
Due to our love and respect for nature and our olive trees, we choose to cultivate in an organic manner targeting quality instead of quantity. We reject the use of pesticides, weed killing, fertilizers and machines, using hand harvesting methods, compost, manures and various natural minerals instead. With this gentle, natural, holistic and eco-friendly way of agriculture, we have seen a great improvement in flora and fauna of our land.
